Delete your account
In the app (fastest)
- Open Roof & Root, go to Settings (the gear on Today), and tap your account: the row at the top that shows your email (called Account & family sharing in version 1.0).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is removed right away.
By email
If you can't get into the app, email info@roofandroot.app from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm it's you and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your login (email and password) and your account record.
- Every household where no other adult remains (you were the only member, or everyone else has a kid account) — its home, cars, family and pet profiles, reminders, notes, calendar, shopping lists, and all stored photos and documents. Kid accounts in it stay, but the household is gone for them too.
- Invite codes you created.
What stays
- If you share a household with another adult, the household stays for everyone in it, including the records, photos and documents you added. You’re taken off its member list. If you were the owner, ownership passes to the adult who joined the household first. A profile with your name in the household, and anything else that mentions you, stays until someone in the household deletes it.
- Anything on your phone stays there until you erase it. The app offers to right after you delete your account, or you can delete the app. Use Settings → Export a backup first if you want a copy of your records. Photos and documents aren’t in that file, so email info@roofandroot.app for copies, and wait until you have them before you delete your account.
- Subscriptions are managed by Apple — cancel Roof & Root Plus in your Apple account’s subscription settings; deleting your account does not cancel billing.
- Purchase records stay. If you subscribed to Plus, Apple keeps the purchase in your Apple account, and RevenueCat, the service that manages our subscriptions, keeps the record of what you bought and when under a random ID rather than your name or email. We keep that record for tax, refunds and fraud prevention. Once your account is deleted, nothing we keep connects that ID to you, apart from server logs that delete themselves within a week.
